Outreach
Ethos
- Pastoral Care
The Outcome for 2010 is for us to develop our pastoral care programme and to workshop pastoral care with the staff and learners. It is how we deal with the stresses we face as educators, learners, support staff and parents and it is how we celebrate our successes.
- Outreach 2010
In fitting in with our ethos we try and accommodate certain charities and institutions that need support in order to continue with their operations. This year we have chosen The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Childline and The Eden School for the Mentally and Physically Challenged.
Every year the learners donate Easter Eggs to the less privileged in our community. This year about 6000 Easter eggs were collected. The Easter eggs were given to the Soup Kitchen for Aids and TB suffers (Walmer Township) and Sister Noreen at Kleinskool.
This year we will also be donating funds to The Eden School for the physically and mentally handicapped. Melanie Louw, an Idols finalist in the year Heinz Winkler won the competition, promotes this school. She came to entertain the learners with six songs and she used the opportunity to speak to the learners about the school and how the
learners cope with their disabilities. It formed part of their Life Orientation syllabus. All the learners brought a donation of R5,00 and all proceeds went to The Eden School.
- Poor Money
Last year we were fortunate to have collected a total of R9 000 in the Foundation Phase and R6 000 in the Intermediate Phase. This money has been distributed to:
- St Vincent de Paul – Walmer Township
- Chief Cornerstone Children’s Home – Korsten
- Soup Kitchen for Aids and TB suffers – Walmer Township
- Aunty Iris – Food Parcels
- Birthday Gifts for our workers
- Christmas Party for the street children
