The 4 COMPULSORY SUBJECTS (GROUP A) are:

• English Home Language (compulsory)
• Religious Education & Life Orientation(compulsory)
• Afrikaans 1st Additional LanguageOR IsiXhosa 1st Add. Language
• MathematicsOR Mathematical Literacy

The 3 ELECTIVE SUBJECTS - ONE FROM EACH LINE (GROUP B)

• Information Technology  (IT) / Computer Applications Technology(CAT) /  Geography
• Physical Science/ Business Studies/ History
• Accounting/ Life Sciences/ Music

The OPTIONAL EXTRA 8TH SUBJECT

• Music (optional as an extra subject)
• Other Language (Private tuition) 

Please Note:

25% of the marks for the year are obtained from continuous assessment tasks given to the learners through the term. (This encourages learners to work consistently throughout the year and gives an accurate assessment of the learner’s overall performance for the year.)

75% of the final mark is from the end of year exam.
