TADA
An ear and shoulder is all that is needed for those struggling to cope with life's challenging additions. ~Anonymous
Priory is proud to be associated with the TADA programme offered in association with SANCA. The Teenagers against Drug and Alcohol Abuse programme is geared towards making high school learners aware of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. The reality is that many teenagers are often exposed to drugs and or alcohol and abuse does occur in all walks of life.
The programme offers training by SANCA counsellors to 15 Priory learners who have registered with SANCA as TADA representatives. These learners attend an extensive range of workshops to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to make their peers aware of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. These learners will also be available to speak to and assist learners who may have problems relating to any form of abuse.
The following learners have enrolled for the TADA workshops: Kimita Ramalingum, Zuko Jwacu, Amber Butt, Sibabalwe Papu, Francesca Pedrosa, Kirsten Illenberger, Caitlin Wong Leith, Michael Larsen, Andisiwe Gcali, Stacey Lee Bopp, Murray Wilson, Dineo Mahola, Siphokazi Jacobs, Anja Montgomery and Anny Fang.
The Priory staff have also attended a workshop presented by SANCA during the first week of the second term in 2009.
Learners are encouraged to speak to any of these learners should they be in need of any form of moral support.
