Laduma! And the countdown begins...

St Dominic’s Priory School got into the FIFA World Cup Spirit today as the 50 day countdown to kick off began.

Dressed to impress, each learner sported proudly South African attire or carried the name of their favourite team. Our Grade 7 “Play it forward” representatives took over the school hall as learners from Grade 1-7 were taught the Disky Dance, some natural-born teachers were unveiled.

When asked what their thoughts were about soccer, Geana Robinson, Grade 7, replied, “Soccer is like a united South Africa, there are no rough edges.”

However, the hard work truly begins now, not only for our soccer teams but our learners too. Each class, from Pre-Grade R to 12, drew the name of a World Cup Team out of a hat and during the build up to the World Cup and during the class will support their selected team. They are also required to research the country that gave birth to them and each class received the flag for their country which will be put up in their classroom.

The excitement will continue to mount as the day draws near where Greece with take on Korea Republic in our hometown, Port Elizabeth!
